Hello Members,
As of 3AM on the morning of Friday September 15th, we are pleased to report that your bargaining committees have reached two tentative agreements for both the Full Time / Part Time and the Casual Bargaining Units.
Full details and a summary of the agreements will be sent by email, and posted to our website by the end of the day on Friday – along with a Bargaining Bulletin to be distributed across all three campuses.
We have achieved many substantial language changes, as well as gains in all of our top issues:
- Parity with the USW 1998 economic settlement for Full Time / Part Time
- Maintain a 40 hour work week for Full Time Food Service workers
- Increased job security
- Equal Pay for Equal Work for Casuals as of May 1, 2019
- Minimum $15 an hour wage for casual workers effective October 1, 2017
Membership meetings and ratification votes will be held on Tuesday September 19th for UTSC, 20th for UTM and 21st for St. George, during both the mid day and the evening shifts. Locations and exact times to be confirmed soon.
