UT Press Tentative Agreements Ratified!
We are excited to announce that on Thursday, Nov 6, all three UT Press bargaining units ratified the tentative agreements reached last week with 100% in favour.
As of Friday, November 7th, these agreements are now in effect.
These historic agreements have come on the heels of unprecedented workplace organizing, culminating in powerful strike mandates from all units, and actions taken on the day before we returned to the table last week.
United we win!

U of T Press Workers Vote Overwhelmingly in Favour of Strike Mandate
With an incredible turnout, U of T Press workers have voted 90%+ YES to authorize strike action.
In a historic first, our three bargaining units – representing 130+ workers at the U of T Press (UTP) Bookstores and Distribution Warehouse – are fighting for a fair contract as ONE. The vote comes after months of negotiations where the employer has refused to make meaningful movement on key issues, including fair wages, a real path to full-time work, and improved benefits.
The negotiating committees will all be going to the table on Monday with a strong and united mandate that management needs to do better and respond to our demands to deliver a fair agreement, otherwise we will be willing to escalate.
